Opening October 15th and running through December, the Medicare open enrollment period can be an overwhelming time. Which plan to choose? Should you switch or stay? Thankfully, The Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) program  is available to help people navigate the system and make the choice that’s best for their care and budget. Read more about SHIBA and this year’s open enrollment through the official press release from the Washington State Insurance Administrator’s office.

Administered in Whatcom County through Opportunity Council’s Whatcom Volunteer Center, the Whatcom County SHIBA office offers free resources including webinars, downloadable resources, and one-to-one consultations. Services are also available in Island and San Juan Counties through local offices.

Opportunity Council houses the Whatcom County SHIBA office. For more information, visit oppco.org/shiba.
