Stand Down for Whatcom County Veterans
Whatcom County Stand Down: Friday, June 5th
HOSTED BY OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL AND THE SALVATION ARMY
This community-driven resource fair brings together local organizations, service providers, and volunteers to support Veterans in Whatcom County.
Attendees can connect with a wide range of services, including housing support, healthcare, employment resources, and Veteran-specific programs. Representatives will be available to assist with VA benefits and eligibility, job opportunities through an on-site job fair, and guidance from a Veteran Service Officer.
This year, we’re proud to expand services with on-site medical care provided by Care-A-Van medical services, helping increase access to essential healthcare.
Veterans can also receive free meals and essential items such as hygiene supplies, blankets, sleeping bags, boots, and more—made possible through the collective efforts of community partners.
Free bus transportation is available through WTA to and from the event with proof of Veteran status.
To help streamline check-in, please bring your DD-214, VA ID, or a driver’s license with Veteran designation.
Bringing your DD-214, VA ID or Veteran designation on your drivers’ license speeds up registration.
