By making sure no one is forgotten by our community, we can come together to build a place where everyone’s contributions are honored.
Each year on the Winter Solstice, we join communities from across the nation to honor the lives of those members of our community who have lost their lives while experiencing homelessness. Please join Opportunity Council, the Homeless Outreach Team, local officials, and others on the steps of Bellingham City Hall on Sunday, December 21 from 5 to 6 p.m. for an evening of reflection and community mourning.
Organized since 2015 by the Homeless Outreach Team, the event will include remarks from local leaders, plus live music and a candlelit ceremony for us all to recognize and remember those who we’ve lost this year.
Please remember to dress warmly, use street parking, and consider carpooling, walking, or public transportation. Candles will be provided.
We hope you’ll join us December 21 to commemorate the lives of these valued members of our community.
