It’s a crucial value in our community that everyone is worthy of the comfort, connection, and calories of a hot meal. That’s why for years, we’ve partnered with Whatcom Artists of Clay and Kiln (WACK) to bring the Empty Bowls fundraiser for hunger to Bellingham, which mixes artistry, local food, and fun. This is a partnership we hold dear, since it helps bring hot, nutritious meals to people in the community through Maple Alley Inn.
By purchasing a ticket for the September 19 event, you can help create more opportunities for people to gather around a nutritious meal, good company, and a welcoming table. You’ll also enjoy an evening of tasty soup, live music, and a handmade bowl to take home from a local artist.

From 5 to 8 p.m., Empty Bowls returns to Stemma West at 508 Carolina Street in Bellingham. Get your presale tickets and help make sure everyone has access to a healthy meal. A presale ticket for $25 guarantees you soup and a bowl, so make sure to snag yours now.
At Maple Alley Inn, anyone looking for comfort and connection through a community hot meal can stop by on Tuesdays for breakfast or Wednesdays and Thursdays for lunch. Chatting with other folks at the Faith Lutheran Church in Bellingham, where it’s held, is a way to feel the warmth of a family meal. The hot lunches feature nutritious veggies from the program’s garden and are prepared by friendly volunteers.
We see firsthand that people in the community want to see everyone get the food they need to stay happy and healthy. Coming together to fight hunger is how we make a difference, and Maple Alley Inn and the work of the Bellingham Food Bank are examples of that. Folks can help their neighbors through both of these programs by coming to Empty Bowls.
We can’t wait to see what bowl you choose! Come join the fun on September 19.
