One time grants available to child care providers in Whatcom County!
The Center for Retention & Expansion of Child Care NW, in partnership with Whatcom County, is offering one-time grants to support licensed child care providers. Funding is limited, and awards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Providers are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Eligible Uses of Funding
- Start-up licensing costs for soon-to-be licensed child care providers
- Repairs to meet WACs to remain in good standing with DCYF license
- Ex: Fence for playground, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc.
- Repairs or improvements to create high quality learning environments
- Ex: Build a sandbox with cover in outdoor area, outdoor roof/awning for year round play, purchase new functional cubbies, etc.
Available Funding
- Awards range $5,000 – $30,000
- Maximum award per provider is 1 time
- Funding available on a First come first serve basis until funding is depleted
