One time mini-grants available to child care providers in Whatcom County!
Thanks to the generous support of the Whatcom Community Foundation, the Center for Retention & Expansion of Child Care NW is excited to offer one-time grants to licensed child care providers. Funds are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and priority will be given to those that have not received Healthy Children’s Funds.
Providers are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Eligible Uses of Funding
- Start-up licensing costs for soon-to-be licensed child care providers
- Repairs and or materials to meet WACs to remain in good standing with DCYF license
- Ex: Fence for playground, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc.
- Repairs or improvements to create high quality learning environments
- Ex: Build a sandbox with cover in outdoor area, outdoor roof/awning for year round play, purchase new functional cubbies, etc.
Available Funding
- Awards range $500 – $1,000.00
- 10 mini-grants of $500.00
- 5 mini-grants of $1,000.00
- Maximum award per provider is 1 time
- Funding available on a first come, first served basis until funding is depleted
- Priority will be given to those that have not received Healthy Children’s Funds
