BELLINGHAM, WASH. (December 4, 2019) – Opportunity Council is proud to announce the following staff and programs recently received recognition for their work.

  • Shawn Collins, Director of OC’s The Energy Project receives 4 Under Forty Award: This award from Northwest Energy Coalition recognizes clean energy leaders under the age of 40 who model the passion and expertise we need to achieve a clean and affordable energy future.
  • OC’s Homeless Outreach Team honored with Scepter Award by Bellingham Downtown Partnership: The Scepter Awards are held each year to recognize community members and businesses that go above and beyond in the shared goal of lifting up Downtown Bellingham as the vibrant and vital heart of the city.
  • 22 North receives Luminary Award for Outstanding Project: Each year at the end of Housing Week, Sustainable Connections give Luminary Awards to honor outstanding local housing achievements. “22 North has done an incredible job of offering support to our community’s youth who are experiencing housing insecurity. We recognize the hard work that both Opportunity Council and Northwest Youth Services put into this project to make it a reality, and our community thanks you.”
  • Wilanne Ollila-Perry, ELAFS’ Quality Child Care Manager was recognized as a Founding Member and honored for her six years of service as Regional Representative to the DCYF/Early Learning Advisory Council (formerly the Governor’s Early Learning Advisory Council) At the NW WA Early Learning Leadership brunch in early October.
