Opportunity Council has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that encourages philanthropy and celebrates generosity worldwide. This year GivingTuesday falls on Nov. 28, 2017.
GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday giving season and inspire people to improve their local communities by giving in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Opportunity Council is pleased to be able to participate in this annual event as a way their supporters can support local community action programs said OC Spokesperson Sheri Emerson.
“We appreciate our community members who support a variety of causes at the Opportunity Council,” said Emerson. “During Giving Tuesday, people can choose to give their time by volunteering, or donating to help support community programs. Whether they support our Volunteer Center, or our Maple Alley Inn hot meals program, or any number of our housing and early learning programs – it all helps to build a stronger community.”
