WHATCOM COUNTY, WASH. (April 2019) – Everyone is invited to “Dine Out” all day Tuesday, May 7, at favorite places around Bellingham, with proceeds going towards hot meals in Whatcom County.
The Opportunity Council’s 19th annual “Dine Out for Maple Alley Inn” includes over 45 locations this year. Each participating restaurant owner will generously donate a percentage of sales from the day to Maple Alley Inn, a hot meals program. “Dine Out” participants can go out forbreakfast, lunch and dinner, knowing their meal purchase is helping others eat a hot meal at Maple Alley Inn.
Maple Alley Inn is an Opportunity Council program dedicated to providing healthy, hot and sustaining meals to Whatcom County residents experiencing hunger: disabled veterans, homeless and low-income individuals, families and anyone in need of a warm, home-cooked meal.
“This past year we sawan increase in the number of people comingto Maple Alley Inn for a hot, nutritious meal,” said Sheri Emerson, OC spokesperson. “This annual ‘Dine Out’ event, together with manydedicated volunteers and community partners, makes it possible for us tocontinue providing meals for people in need.”
In addition to dining out, the Opportunity Council also accepts individual donations for Maple Alley Inn. Checks payable to Opportunity Council Maple Alley Inn can be mailed to 1111 Cornwall Ave. Suite C, Bellingham, WA 98225.
