VISTA Projects Home Page

AmeriCorp*VISTA volunteers work in organizations throughout the United States to develop programs that prevent or reduce poverty in our country.

The Opportunity Council is an “umbrella agency” for VISTA projects in Whatcom, Island and San Juan Counties. Organizations can apply for a project through us rather than going directly to the state office. This allows us to monitor the distribution of VISTAs in the community, offer technical assistance to each organization, and provide a direct contact person here in Bellingham for participating organizations.
