The connection between quality care, teacher education and compensation has been widely documented. Washington State has taken to address these issues with some promising and energizing initiatives. Washington Scholarships for Child Care Professionals is a scholarship program that allows child care and out of school time providers to take college level classes towards a two year degree. Once a provider completes a certain number of credits, they are awarded a bonus or a raise!
